THOMAS FRANK

Photoworks by Thomas Frank are in permanent collections of The Detroit Institute of Arts, corporations and private collections. He has been given numerous awards since 1980 and exhibited internationally since 1957. He has two "firsts": the first successful use of metallic pigments in the gum bichromate photochemical process and the world's first dye-transfer motion picture "Interplay" in 1978. Since 200O, he uses a glass block to filter camera-made images to be non-referential to their sources. These abstract images expand the photographic dialogue.
