| On My Street
The kids on the block
love everything dirty
play in the alley
are discarded themselves
scream out "uncle" when
they want to be released.

Too many for one house,
they seem to fall out the windows.
They land on faded plastic tricycles.
The wheels run over doll parts,
scattering the pieces:
the sidewalk littered with bodies.

| Strong in Winter
On sunny winter days
when the glow on white
is blinding,
when crispness bleeds a nose,
there is the song of the hearty—
chirping on a skeleton/
wings across the sky.
Proves a puddle
same as a pond
in such ways.
