People have been turning clay into art for all of our known history. It is both an ancient practice and a contemporary art form. Dezman explores the qualities of ceramics, using scraps and flaws to her advantage. She breaks down the elements of clay and reforms them in visually appealing ways that no longer appear to be traditional ceramic art.

This is Dezman's 6th solo show since graduating with her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2014.
