Café 1923

Hatch and Café 1923 both started in 2006, and we've acted as curator for the art on their walls since its grand opening. The café functioned as Hatch de facto headquarters for many years, hosting monthly meetings, art openings and various other activities.

Detroit Pistons Basketball For All Neighbors Program

The Detroit Pistons launched the Neighbor's Program in 2019 to encourage the use of courts with basketball clinics, skills training, yoga and more. Hatch sent artists to lead art-making workshops in Detroit’s Pingree Park in the Summer 2020.

Hamtramck Labor Day Festival

For over three decades, Hamtramck has celebrated Labor Day weekend with a festival on the Main Street of Joseph Campau, with plenty of music, food and fun. Hatch has hosted a booth at the festival since 2006 and has been a co-sponsor since 2013.

Discovery Channel

In 2014, Discovery hosted a 4th of July celebration in Hamtramck and collaborated with Hatch to provide live artist demonstrations and activities for kids.

City of Hamtramck

Hatch has teamed up with the city to host an art festival for children and to establish a farmer’s market for local artisans and growers. We maintain a signboard in Zussman Park, featuring art for park visitors to enjoy.

Detroit Institute of Arts

The DIA has a traveling gallery and came to Hamtramck in 2016 to team with Hatch and the City of Hamtramck to host Art in the Park, where artists gave demonstrations and the community came together to celebrate creativity.

Hamtramck Neighborhood Arts Festival

The Hamtramck Neighborhood Arts Fest is a loosely curated showcase of the artists, writers and musicians living in Hamtown and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Our goal is to activate the city’s indigenous talent and create a walkable, neighborhood-scale, art experience.

HKS Architects

HKS partnered with Hatch in 2011 to run a charette for college students from several area schools.  Their project was to redesign the police station Hatch owns into a center for art.

AIGA Detroit

Hosted a 2015 social event with Hatch for its members, covering the gallery walls in paper and drawing all over them.

DABI (Detroit Art and Business Institute)

Hosted a 2016 seminar with Hatch, discussing business opportunities for artists and other issues.

TOOL & DIE

Hatch hosted the record label's 2016 release DU NORD // "A Right Response" by singer-songwriter Caitlin Drinkard, featuring visual and musical performances.

MAPC (Mid-America Print Council)

Hosted the work of many Mexican and American artists participating in MAPC’s Print City Detroit 2014.

Knight Foundation

The Knight Foundation, which offers arts challenge grants in Detroit, offered an information session at Hatch and utilized Hatch for consulting in 2013.

Interstate Arts

Interstate Arts aims to place art at the center of daily life, inviting viewers to participate in creative work. IA hosted youth and adult classes at Hatch. 

Infinite Monkeys

The Infinite Monkeys Writers Group is an excuse to take those crazy stories out of the dark recesses of our brains, write them into a bit of flash fiction every month and actually share it with other people. 

AIA Detroit Urban Priorities Committee

Hatch, in conjunction with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Urban Priorities Committeehelped design and decorate the interiors of the "Coffee and ( ___ )" pop-up cafe during the 10th Annual Jazzin’ on Jefferson outdoor music festival, 2013.

Recycled Treasures

Recycled Treasures was established in 2007 so that low income families could buy household items and basic furniture at low cost. Volunteer artists make recycled art to sell in the shop. In 2010, Hatch and Recycled Treasures held Art in the Park, a family-friendly art fair and contest.

Creative Many

Creative Many is a statewide organization that develops creative people, creative places and the creative economy for a competitive Michigan through research, advocacy, professional practice and communications.
